new little sister

Yesterday i met with my cousin, a long-related cousin, if i may say. He used to be my private-home tutor when i was in senior high school. What a time! Now he lives in singapore with his wife and his 7-years-old daughter. I was a bit lost when locating his apartment, but i found it anyway. It's on level 15, hoho. So highhhh.

The first comment he said to me, "Wah, you're so 'big' now! And so like your daddy when he's on your age!" Haha, i didnt expect him to say those welcoming words, but anyway, it's good to see him again. He welcomed me entering his apartment - a small, neat, tidy, clean, and comfort place to dwell - then introduced me to his family.

First, I met Celine. She said hello to me with his cute voice, "hello, uncle Erwin". What a nice little girl. Then i met her mum as we smiled and handshaked each other. Afterward my uncle asked me to have a seat as we had a light conversations as waited for a dinner time.

I've just realized, Celine is such a talkative girl, hoho. I should've sensed it in their apartment as she always give comments on the TV's show. Not mentioning all the way to restaurant how she talked with her mum, asked her dad's opinion, and sometimes looked at me (then i knew that she was intending to talk with me - but i wasn't realizing that 'urge', haha). At dinner table, she behaved so polite (for a girl at her age) starting with preparing the dinner utensils, serving her parents, and even asking me what kind of drink i'd like to!

Finished with dinner, we had a short walk to local-area supermarket. Here, Celine and i had a long chit-chat *hoho* started with telling me her activity before and after school. It's fun to hear her voice - mixed with unique Singlish accent - and also (i've just realized then) she no longer called me 'uncle' but 'koko', haha.

We splitted up on the way back to their apartment. The last thing Celine said to me is, "koko.. can you see the restaurant there? It sells roti prata, and i like it very much"
I said to her, "I never try one. What kind of food is that?" She looked confused at that moment - i guess because she has no other way to describe roti prata *hihi* - but her mum told me if it's a roti canai *ahhh.. i know that!*

In brief, we had a great time at that nite. It's amazed to see how years passed by. And it's glad having a little-talkative-singlish sister. *big grinning*
