do not settle for the good !

“And Abraham said to God, ‘If only Ishmael might live under your blessing!’”

Dearly Beloved,

An international speaker, John L. Mason, wrote a book that is a best-seller titled “An Enemy Called Average.” On the cover page of the book, he said, “Don’t settle For An Average Life – God Wants To Launch You Past The Middle To The Top.” The final words of the author of the book in part are, “Be the whole person God called you to be. Don’t settle for anything less.”

It was as if the author of the book had Abraham in mind when he was choosing the title of the inspirational book. God had called Abraham out of his relatives to make him the father of many nations (see Genesis 12:1-3). God promised to bless him greatly and make his descendants numerous and great (see Genesis 15).
However, he did not have children. He had even concluded in his mind that a servant would inherit all his possessions and the blessings of God! God assured him that a son coming out of his own body would be his heir (see Genesis 15:1-4). When God tarried in fulfilling this promise, Abraham and his wife tried to help God. They had a son through Hagar, a maidservant (see Genesis 16). Nonetheless, God insisted that the promised child would come through Sarah (see Genesis 17:15-16). Abraham saw this as a joke and suggested to God to be contented the good he (Abraham) helped God brought into being (see Genesis 17:17-18). He had settled for the good. Nevertheless, God was resolute to do the best for him (see Genesis 17:19).

On many occasions, we also settle for the good we have and pray that God should bless it while God is planning the best for us. A popular adage says, “God’s time is the best.” However, most of us prefer the good time we have or that we are thinking of to the best time of God. This should not be! We should learn how to wait for the best time and the best things of God for us. We should not settle for the good or the average, but the best.

What are you expecting from God? Does it seem it is getting too late? Are you trying to settle for the good you have now? The best of God came to reality in the lives of Abraham and Sarah when they least expected it (see Genesis 21:1-7). Your best will also come to reality in Jesus’ name. Amen.
But, do not settle for the good!

then, didn’t know why.. (now i’m trully regreting it)
i commented on my answer, “is that a right answer for question number two? i could not find any relevant result”

he stopped read it, then asked me directly, “umm.. ok.. show me what you’ve got”
i showed him the coding..
then he said, “no no.. you should not using vim.. use strings with less instead”
i did what he asked..
then he said, “okey.. now look at those informations on the screen.. and show me what you can tell me about them”

JRENK.. GUBRAK.. ARGGGHHHH..

what kind of message were those lines?
surely.. for sure.. i didn’t know!!! *haha*
anyhow, i handed in my ‘new’ answer..
he looked at my answer.. showed some ‘weird’ face..
and i knew.. i made a terrible-bad-bad mistake!! *hihi*

this morning, i was alarmed by a kukuruyuk tone.. yes, it’s my sms tone :p
a message from my uncle, “Don’t forget to come for lunch!”
yes, (of course) i do not forget! :p i replied, “yep, 1230, rite”

while waiting for the bathroom, i took my cherry baby and play with her for a while *haha*.. and suddenly i realized.. i was late!! *hihi..*
ah!! i jumped out from my bed, took a ‘struggle-seat’ *haha*, and dressed on..
ups.. 1210.. oh mann.. impossible.. how could i make 1230 !! :D

on the way to celine’s house, i was thinking about all nice food i would (usually) have (in cny).. paikut.. babi cah kecap.. kuah isi jeroan babi.. ayam pe cam kwee.. dkk..
JRENKKK.. aaaaa… none of them!! *huhh.. dissapointed*
instead, it turned out to a home-made steambot *not bad, anyway!!! *porkball, fish, shrimp, veggies, fish-tofu, siomay, fish-skin, big-filled tofu, mushrooms, etc.. *slrupss* with additinal somekind of chinese desserts (dunno the name..), plus cookies like nastar, astor, etc etc.. well, no doubt, i filled my stomache fully ‘organized’ :D


also, we had about 15minutes photo session *wakakak*..
i stayed a while talking and chitchatting with them, it's funny hearing and having conversation with celine.. mostly of her sing-lish and her act, hihi.. and we also 'taught' her how to pronounce laleRRRRR.. haha..
anyway, it was a good afternoon!! thanks, uncle & auntie & celine!!


time's up.. and i went back home (with angpao!! :D )

spurs, jazz, and mavericks had been defeated, while suns, rockets, and nuggets had won..urghhhh..

one more thing.. i’ve just ngeh-ed also, all of my friends - which hobbies is having delicious foods - they ‘re all gone for a week celebrating their cny on their (mine too) home country. i think, if they were all here, we would have a (at least) two gigantic suppers, i suppose *haha*

i've just had Prosperity Burger, a special mcd's offer for this oncoming (not official yet) ox chinese year. and i'd say, it's not tasty :p it's just like a chinese beef steak, grilled with strange sauce (bbq, maybe), served with onions.
believe me, i wont buy it again.. and worse, it didnt fill my stomach up, haha..

2008’s (1) - movies..

i’ve just compiled my best movies in 2008.
actually, i was intended to blog it last december, but it seemed i was too ‘busy’ :p

since there are many categories, certainly i can not just pick one winner of all.
so i will choose maximum 3 movies of each categories..
i believe, a good movie should have a (or some) implied message(s) for the viewers.
and my personal remark is based on my personal view, no need to agree with me.
here they are..

drama:
in the valey of elah (faith, hope, and love)
the bucket list (what would you do if the verdict is in front of you?)
great debaters (life is an art.. not just a concept)

action:
dark knight (it’s not easy to be a white hero.. and joker, you did a extraordinary performance! )
iron man (intellectual + persistent + technology + compassionate = real hero)
butterfly on a wheel (sometimes you need to ‘learn’ before you ‘understand’)

comedy:
evan almighty (‘God’ never wrongs)
madagascar 2 (it’s about a ‘humanic’ friendship)
kungfu panda (what you see is not what others see)

others:
meet the spartan (note: you should watch 300 first, then you will enjoy it)
juno (is it about.. grown-up teenagers or immature adults ?)
maid of honour (how far would you go for the one?)

worst (dissapointed watched it):
indiana jones 4 (too ‘much’.. bored.. predictable..)
bangkok dangerous (cheap movie ‘borrowing’ great actor)
good luck, chuck (the best thing about this movie, just jessica alba)

note:
dark knight is gonna be the absolute winner, while indiana jones 4 is the perfect loser.

ahh..
my first post this year, officially from a place i called 'home' :p

a couple of friends asked me about it..
"home"???
yes.. home !!
a place where you (gonna) spend most of the time *hint hint* (or at least for temporary), would it be called 'home' ?
i'd like to define it as a place i could/would stay on and live in, with a comfy feeling and without any either 'sighing' or 'mumbling'..

and also..
i greet you, 2009 !
2008 was a good year from Him..
and i believe, 2009 is another year to be enjoyed with Him!!
